InDel DNA Markers Potentially Unique to Kaluga Sturgeon Huso dauricus Based on Whole-Genome Resequencing Data

Sturgeons are ancient and endangered species whose populations have been greatly reduced over the past few centuries due to habitat destruction overfishing for production of expensive caviar. All sturgeon listed in CITES Appendix II limit their trade; therefore, accurate identification is crucial. In this study, we performed whole-genome resequencing five species, including Kaluga (H. dauricus), Siberian (A. baerii), Sterlet ruthenus), Russian gueldenstaedtii), Amur schrenckii), obtain species-specific InDel-based nucleotide sequences sturgeon. Through screening within these developed methods rapid germplasm. Using dominant/co-dominant molecular markers designed Huso dauricus, purebred or hybrid samples can be identified through a PCR reaction. These allow precise lineages from at least seven A. schrenckii, ruthenus, baerii, gueldenstaedtii, stellatus, H. huso) hybrids. This development expected positive effect on both trade conservation germplasm resources.
